We’re excited to announce that Doherty Memorial High School has been recognized with an Award of Merit by Engineering News-Record as part of its Regional Best Projects program.
This 422,000-square-foot building is home to more than 1,700 students and was built to push what’s possible—earning its place as Worcester Public Schools’ largest school and designed to be the City of Worcester’s first carbon-negative building. Beyond its scale and sustainability goals, this project reflects a deep investment in the city’s people and community, with 400,000+ hours worked by people of color, women, and city residents, and $50+ million spent with minority and women owned businesses.
Projects like Doherty remind us why we do what we do: creating high-performance spaces for learning while making a meaningful impact in the communities where we build, work, and live.
