Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

A diverse workforce is a strong workforce. Diversity and inclusion have long been core to our approach to hiring our workforce and working with subcontractors and suppliers. Our business is only as strong as the people we hire, and by bringing in people of all backgrounds, we believe that we're able to better serve our clients and our community.

A diverse workforce is a strong workforce

Diversity and inclusion have long been core to our approach to hiring our workforce and working with subcontractors and suppliers. Our business is only as strong as the people we hire, and by bringing in people of all backgrounds, we believe that we’re able to better serve our clients and our community.

Cultivating talent

Fontaine Bros. takes an active role as a construction manager and general contractor, which helps to create opportunities for local tradespeople in the cities we call home, such as Springfield and Worcester. We partner with unions, trade schools, and other community partners so that everyone who works with us can be introduced to great career opportunities and get the support and connections they need to be successful in the long term.

Meet Liz

Elizabeth Wambui, our Director of Diversity, Inclusion & Impact, plays a critical role in leading our projects and teams to maximize opportunities for Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprises, as well as attracting a more diverse workforce. According to Liz, “The key is to support these individuals throughout their careers. By being more active throughout the entire diversity ecosystem, I believe we will not only meet and exceed our goals and expectations, but we will help to create and sustain great careers for the next generation of tradespeople in Springfield, Worcester, and throughout the Commonwealth.”

The Fontaine Community Foundation

Liz also serves as the Executive Director of the Fontaine Community Foundation which is an innovative, employee-directed philanthropic arm of the company committed to investing in the communities where we live and build. Its mission is to leverage resources to help solve problems and contribute to the common good. We envision communities that thrive in quality education, have access to affordable healthcare, and have the culture to help young people grow and learn.
