Opened for the 2015-2016 school year, the new Auburn Middle School is a 100,000 square foot smart building constructed to achieve Green Building Certification through the MA-CHPS program. Featuring advanced building management systems, solar controlled shades, and triple insulated glass at all windows and storefronts, the building is as efficient as it is functional.
Building features include an open lobby featuring a translucent panel sky-light system, a media center, cafetorium, advanced lab spaces, and a gymnasium featuring 6 basketball hoops and bleachers with a capacity of over 250 seats. The building was completed from the ground up in just 14 months.
