The $18 million, 80,000-square-foot Woodward Athletic Center serves as the hub of athletics, recreation, and movement science at Westfield State University, integrating academic and athletic functions under one roof. The facility features a 35,000-square-foot field house, an NCAA basketball court with seating for 1,100 spectators, an indoor track, and strength and conditioning spaces, along with classrooms, a computer lab, and conference rooms supporting sports science and related programs. Recognized for its craftsmanship and design quality, the project received the NECMA Design Award of Excellence and an honor from the International Masonry Institute for masonry work performed by Fontaine.
