Chiller Plant Upgrades, UMASS Amherst

Amherst, Massachusetts

This $22 million project consisted of constructing a new Chiller Plant, taking the existing plant off line and ultimately removing the existing plant. A temporary chiller plant was created while simultaneously building the New Plant, which was located on the same site. The project included extensive underground electrical work as well as miles of chilled water piping that ran throughout the campus. This work was accomplished with minimizing the down time of the critical cooling system.
