The new Clinton Middle School will deliver a modern, 136,000-square-foot learning facility located on the existing athletic fields adjacent to the current middle school campus. Construction will take place while the existing school remains fully operational, requiring careful phasing to maintain safe access, parking, and utility services throughout the duration of the work.
A key component of the project is its focus on long-term sustainability and efficiency, including a new geothermal well system designed to significantly reduce energy consumption and support stable, year-round building performance. Once the new facility is complete and occupied, the existing middle school will be fully demolished and the site will be restored, including athletic fields and remaining site improvements.
While the project requires managing temporary disruptions such as reconfigured traffic patterns, parking, and utility infrastructure, the end result will be a high-performance, energy-efficient middle school that supports modern educational programming, enhances student experience, and reduces long-term environmental impact for the Town of Clinton.
