Certified by the Collaborative for High Performance Schools (MA-CHPS), the new Freeman Kennedy Elementary School is home to 585 students. The school was built to blend with its natural setting, with a rear courtyard that includes an outdoor classroom, a water garden, and clusters of shade trees.
The school’s south-facing roofs hold a 50 kW photovoltaic system, and all of its classrooms and the library feature exposed wood-beam ceilings.
