Minnechaug Regional High School is a newly constructed, 21st-century facility serving approximately 1,225 students in the Hampden–Wilbraham Regional School District. Delivered through the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) Model School Program, the project replaces the district’s former high school with a modern, efficient, and flexible learning environment.
The 248,000-square-foot, $53.6 million building is organized around open, light-filled academic wings with high ceilings and extensive skylights that support collaboration and natural daylighting. It includes 40 classrooms and 11 computer labs, along with specialized learning spaces such as a media center, distance-learning lab, graphic arts and performing arts suites, a 750-seat auditorium, a 510-seat cafeteria, and a 246-seat natatorium.
Designed in alignment with Massachusetts Collaborative for High Performance Schools (MA-CHPS) standards, the facility emphasizes energy efficiency, sustainability, and adaptable instructional space to support modern teaching and learning.
