South Hadley Public Library

South Hadley, Massachusetts

The South Hadley Public Library sits on a bluff above a dam on the Connecticut River on a redeveloped brownfield site, a former abandoned industrial site. The first floor of the two-story library provides children’s services, new book browsing and meeting rooms. The second floor houses adult collections. Reading rooms on both floors follow the curve of the river, providing dramatic views of the dam below. The sustainable design has been certified LEED Silver.
